I tire of social media. it isn't very social. If I meet friends for lunch I want to talk to them. Half the time a friend will start a story and another will say, "yeah I saw that on facebook." I have a facebook account. I don't like it. I think about deleting it all the time but it is (sadly) convenient for all the out-of-town folk. And yet I find myself drawn to it, to see if there's anything interesting. Sometimes there are engaging news and article shares that I'm glad to see. I'm only 36 but I feel really old and cranky, I've really noticed it since around March of this year. I just want a land-line phone hanging on the wall of my house so I can unplug it during writing hours and other than that, I want to be left alone. I think there has just been so much going on this summer that I'm ready for some down-time. I haven't even had time to do a proper photo-story. My dolls have been chibi-fied for a whole year. hahaha... I had better get a move on. *grump grump grump* I am being whiny. *shuts up*

I know all but 1 person on my friends, long story short someone I know online from other interests, and it's been a way to keep family up to date on stuff. One friend has been going through health problems and has appreciated having on line contacts to cheer him up as he can't get out much. I've had some requests from friends of my sister and her crowd but I've passed because I don't know them and I don't want my wall clogged up with so and so just played this game.

On the professional side I can totally agree with VV, been in that neighborhood.

Misty, I had a local doll retailer (who only sells on Ebay) send repeated emails asking to friend me on LinkedIn a few weeks ago. I've bought a few things from her over the past couple years, but what I thought was really odd (besides not really knowing her) is that I don't have a Linkedin account! The first one I responded to with a pleasant refusal. After about the 4th one I finally had to mark the emails as spam to stop them.

It gets really annoying when you are out with a friend and their attention is all on Facebook on their Blackberry.
All of my RL friends only keep regular contact with me through Facebook. If it was not for that, I wouldn't hear from them.

=|

I'm only 32 and my friends are all zombies.

Ugh one of my biggest pet peeves is someone always on their phone when they're out with someone. It bothers me so much!

Haha - we met with friends the other day at CFA and the mom had to tell the daughter (one of my 16 yo daughter's best friends) to stop "checking her status replies" on FB! Cassie looked sheepish, but 10 minutes later, she'd be one her phone again to check FB.

One of my acquaintances from Cynology club is giving a cat and a kitten for adoption. The kitten looks so cute! I really wish I could have him or his mother but my parents wouldn't let me. :(

Man, I really want one of dollzone's summer event dolls, mostly a HanHan, but I don't really have any plans for any of Dollzone's other dolls. I wish I wasn't such a lurker, then I'd probably be able to find someone willing to do a split with...

I both love and hate moving. On the one hand, it's nice to get rid of a bunch of stuff that I never use/don't want/shouldn't have and organize everything(especially my studio things) into a more functional system. On the other had, getting rid of stuff is stressful, I'm lazy and hate manual labor ie moving boxes, and I just packed up all my dolls for the next week and half/two weeks. Hopefully not any longer or Imma hurt someone. I feel really strangely guilty for boxing them up, especially after I *just* finished sueding Ella and resueding Kellan. Got some decent shots of them before packing with my spiffy new camera I just picked up last night. That definitely goes onto the "yay" side of things.

EDIT: As soon as I posted this I realized something about my doll names. K-Ella-n. Never realized Ella was in Kellan's name *headdesk*
