KitKat .... do we know each other? Do you come to either of the local NGA BJD groups' monthly meetings?

If you want to PM me, I might be able to give you a few local options to look into depending on where in metro Atlanta you are.

Just don't come to Florida for a teaching job. The school system down here is among the worst in the States. You know they have so little budget that they're making parents supply stuff for entire classes. My friend just went shopping for her kindergartener, and the school list said "6 boxes of crayons, 12 glue sticks and 4 bottles of glue" as well 8 sheafs of paper, though I didn't catch whether it was loose-leaf or printer paper. I told her not to let her daughter bring more than one glue stick and one box of crayons in at a time, until she sees what's going on. I understand there's a lot of arts and crafts, in kindergarten, but 6 boxes of crayons? Really?

Best of luck, KitKat. -hug-

And TatsuKitty, I'm sorry to hear that! :( What sculpt is it?

On my end, I told my fiance that no-one is to come over for the next two weeks at LEAST, because I'm going to be busting ass at work, and I don't need the stress. If he wants to hang with his friends, he has to go visit with them. He got pissy at me! We'll see what happens in the next few days. -sigh- I had to go in today off the clock, to help the new supervisor, but I was already expecting it. I don't think she's going to last. Which means we are so very very screwed for the holidays, because we won't be able to get another supervisor trained in time.

OkamiKodomo: First was Leeke Gray. Second is Leeke Kyou. I couldn't even finish the faceup because I was so disappointed. I don't know what to with him now. I guess I can try and maybe sell him or trade AGAIN but i"m honestly a bit wary. @_@ I hope things get better your way.

Aw a shame you're not happy with them. They're both cute sculpts. Don't be afraid to trade around though. I'm sure eventually you'll find a sculpt that's perfect for what you envision.

I'm going to finish catching up on posts here, then I'm going to go spend some time with my dolliehs. Oracle is currently keeping me company on my desk, because I brought her in to work with me, both to stay sane, and to cheer up the other supervisor, because she was a mess when she called me for help.

Don't come to the Netherlands for a teaching job either. After Summer break I know I'll have two months of fulltime work ahead of me, and after that three days a week until Christmas, but that's when I may lose my job again. There's too many teachers who have lost their jobs and they have more rights to be hired at different schools than me, since I only just graduated last year. I consider myself VERY lucky that I got a fulltime job for a full year right after I got my diploma. I know they want to keep me, but they're probably forced to hire someone else over me after Christmas.

In the past couple of years, there has been in increase in the number of students being pulled from public schools - and not just for religious reasons. There are more "secular" parents choosing to homeschool their kids and looking for nontraditional teachers and schooling. Homeschool co-ops aren't the same as private schools as homeschooled kids usually just take a couple of classes outside the home. However, there is also the emergence of the online school for those parents who aren't in a position to do the actual homeschooling themselves or whose children do better following someone else's direction.

I'd be more than happen to give you some suggestions, but a simple Goggle on homeschooling could give you a whole new perspective.

Yes, I know loads of people who home school now. If I pop out a kid, it will either be private school or I'll home school. Public ed isn't even on the table. I'd want my kid to have a high-school experience and do the whole sports, clubs and prom thing, but it will be at a quality school, preferably with no teacher's unions so they're hired and paid based on merit.

I believe it was closer to a month (maybe even five or six weeks) before my account was approved there. So, yeah. Long wait appears to be normal. I waited so long that I figured my account had been not-approved and was totally surprised when I got the "your account has been activated" email.
