When she finally did get checked out due to pneumonia they had found stage 4 ovarian cancer already running rampant - meaning it had spread to her other organs including her brain. They couldn't do much at this stage but if they had caught it earlier they could have. She was able to live for 3 years after that but it just got progressively worse and her suffering was immense.
She was only 53.
