This week's Dollieh Question from our list. (viewtopic.php?f=41&t=6677)

20. Clothes: Make your own, buy, or both.

Both. I've bought more then made though.
I'm mostly on Tumblr now.

I make my own. The few pieces I have that I didn't make myself, were gotten from swaps :)

Make my own all the way! I only ever bought one pullover for my dolls because it was made from a fabric I knew I couldn't have gotten my hands on and I really really wanted the thing. ^^ I love to sew, that's actually one reason why I got dolls in the first place, so I can make things for them. :D (I'm working on learning how to make everything my dolls need myself, including shoes, wigs and eyes.)

Buy. I'd love to teach myself to sew properly, but I have no room to set up a work area for a sewing machine or supplies. If that ever changes, I'll probably try to learn. I like artsy/crafty stuff so I'd probably enjoy it. I did make one pair of wrap pants for a 1/6 scale doll and they actually turned out pretty decent, given I had barely a clue as to what I was doing. It was mostly just guesswork on my part. lol

Even should I manage to learn to sew, I'll probably still buy, too. Just 'cause there are so many gorgeous outfits I can never resist. Especially if they come at a good price.

I've sewn and bought doll clothes. I usually buy though in part because the family sewing machine is still packed away. I'm hoping to get back into sewing so I can make clothes that suit the characters of my dolls better.

All of my boys' clothes are made for them by me, Yannie, or my mom.

I usually buy my clothes. I've been trying to improve my sewing, but so far I haven't advanced enough to make anything that looks good on my dolls.

I usually make all of my clothes for my dolls but I do buy some pieces.

@LunaCat Practice makes perfect, just keep at it. Not one of us were perfect at first. I still can't machine sew.

Make what I can, buy what I can't. I machine sew more than hand sew these days.

Its been an interesting 7 years. I may not be professional in sewing but there's been interesting stuff made along the way that makes me like the sewing aspect of this hobby. :D
