I make my own. The few pieces I have that I didn't make myself, were gotten from swaps

Make my own all the way! I only ever bought one pullover for my dolls because it was made from a fabric I knew I couldn't have gotten my hands on and I really really wanted the thing. ^^ I love to sew, that's actually one reason why I got dolls in the first place, so I can make things for them. (I'm working on learning how to make everything my dolls need myself, including shoes, wigs and eyes.)
Buy. I'd love to teach myself to sew properly, but I have no room to set up a work area for a sewing machine or supplies. If that ever changes, I'll probably try to learn. I like artsy/crafty stuff so I'd probably enjoy it. I did make one pair of wrap pants for a 1/6 scale doll and they actually turned out pretty decent, given I had barely a clue as to what I was doing. It was mostly just guesswork on my part. lol
Even should I manage to learn to sew, I'll probably still buy, too. Just 'cause there are so many gorgeous outfits I can never resist. Especially if they come at a good price.
I've sewn and bought doll clothes. I usually buy though in part because the family sewing machine is still packed away. I'm hoping to get back into sewing so I can make clothes that suit the characters of my dolls better.
Make what I can, buy what I can't. I machine sew more than hand sew these days.
Its been an interesting 7 years. I may not be professional in sewing but there's been interesting stuff made along the way that makes me like the sewing aspect of this hobby.
